Teyana Taylor, who stars alongside DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, stepped in to explain that the Oscar winner was actually talking to her. Speaking to Access Hollywood, Taylor said, “He’s talking to me, yes,” adding that the conversation likely revolved around K-Pop Demon Hunters, which had just won an award that night.

“I was so happy when they won, because my kids love K-Pop Demon Hunters,” she explained. “So I was over there just jamming, and I think he caught me jamming, and that’s when we started talking about it.”

The clip stood out largely because DiCaprio is rarely seen being so openly playful in public. Known for keeping a low profile, the Titanic star’s animated gestures during the commercial break felt refreshingly out of character.

Taylor, who won her first Golden Globe that night for best supporting actress, admitted the evening was a blur. “I blacked out,” she said, though she clearly remembers laughing and vibing with DiCaprio over the animated film. “I do remember jamming so hard when ‘Golden’ by K-Pop Demon Hunters came on… but I didn’t know that that whole moment was being captured.”

Just when fans thought the mystery was settled, Taylor added a new twist during her appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon jokingly asked, “Who is he talking to?” prompting laughter from both. Taylor revealed that after rewatching the full clip and seeing a lip-reader’s breakdown of it go viral, she began to doubt her own version of events.

“I had to call Leo,” she said. “I’m like, ‘I wasn’t asking you.’ You can’t be talking to me… cause I told people that you were talking to me.”

The real surprise? “Apparently, he had two K-Pop Demon Hunters conversations that night,” Taylor revealed, and DiCaprio himself doesn’t even remember who he was speaking to in the viral moment.

So while the internet briefly celebrated solving the Golden Globes mystery, the truth is still half-hidden. The video may have been explained for a day, but the person on the other side of DiCaprio’s enthusiastic chat remains, fittingly, a little bit mysterious.
