Hema Malini, who is a BJP MP from Mathura, and a resident of Mumbai, went to the polling booth on Thursday morning to cast her vote during the Mumbai BMC Elections. As Hema was addressing the media outside the polling station, a senior citizen lost his cool and tried to speak to her as the station was allegedly mismanaged. Hema sent one of her associates to speak to the senior citizen but was visibly bothered by the citizen’s complaints as she let out a laugh and rolled her eyes.

The citizen could be heard saying, “I have been staying in this area for the last 60 years. There is chaos for the first time. I have been trying to vote since 7:30 am and I got to vote at 9:30 am. Nobody is answerable, nobody is accountable and even a local BJP worker is not there.” As he went on, Hema asked one of her associates to look into the matter and said, “He is answerable.” She then turned back to the reporters stationed there and rolled her eyes as the citizen continued to complain. When her associate told the citizen, “Baad mein baat karte hain (We’ll talk later),” they said, “Baad mein nahi. Yeh sahi jagah hai. (Not later. This is the right place.)” Hema was bothered by the noise and said, “Itna awaz karenge toh kisi ko kuch bhi nahi milega. (If you make this much noise, no one will get anything.)”

Hema addressed the reporters and spoke about the importance of voting and said, “This is very very important for every citizen of Mumbai. If you want safety, security, progress, clean air, good roads, for all of this, we will all have to take responsibility and come and vote.” She also added, “I would say Mumbai is the best city in the world, but it can be better.”
