Actor Dileep is set to return to work soon. As per latest reports, the shooting of his forthcoming film, Kammara Sambhavam, which was stalled after his arrest in the Malayalam actress abduction and sexual assault case, has been resumed. Director Ratheesh Ambatt recommenced the shooting for the film on Monday at Vengara in Malappuram district.
Dileep, however, is expected to join the sets by October 20 in Malayattoor, said media reports. The actor was arrested when the shooting was on in Theni in July.
Kammara Sambhavam is a big-ticket film that is being made on a budget of Rs 20 crore. Writer-actor Murali Gopy has penned the script for the multi-starrer, which has Dileep, Siddharth, Tamannaah, Namitha Pramod among others in the star cast.
Following the arrest of Dileep on July 10, the Malayalam film industry was facing a loss to the tune of Rs 60 crore. The embattled movie star had been part of several big-ticket films including Kammara Sambhavam. Professor Dinkan, a 3D movie, which marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Ramachandrababu, Saddam Sivan and Njarana Mon were affected by his arrest.
His latest film Ramaleela, that released amid a lot of protests, managed to strike gold at the box office in Kerala. The filmmakers even had a small celebration at Dileep’s residence after he was released from Aluva Sub Jail, where he was locked up for 85 days.
Dileep was released last week on a condition bail granted by the Kerala High Court in the sensational case that has turned his life upside down. The actor is preparing to resume shooting for his pending projects even as the investigation into the case is still on.
