Gogoi was arrested by the agency under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act on December 12 when protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act rocked Assam.
Gogoi, whose custody was to end on Friday, has been booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code and stringent Unlawful (Activities) Prevention Act, the officials said.
Security forces kept a tight vigil at the airport as Assam police personnel and commandos were deployed to guard the area. Services were closed at prepaid taxi counters inside the airport premises in lieu of the curfew.

This is the second recent incident of gangrape in Nagaon. On March 17, the Nagaon police arrested eight people in connection with the alleged gangrape of a 35-year-old woman.
