Upcoming OnePlus Watch 2 confirmed to feature a circular display (Image credit: OnePlus)OnePlus has started teasing a new product. This time it’s a smartwatch, which is likely to be called the OnePlus Watch 2 and could go official at the upcoming Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2024. This will be the 2nd high-end smartwatch from the company, and it is said to be powered by WearOS, making it the company’s first true flagship smartwatch.
OnePlus, in an X post, says, “We have a new product coming soon, a new Face in the OnePlus Flagship Family.” The company is also highlighting that “It’s time, to do it right!,” clearly indicating that the upcoming smartwatch is a flagship product, and it is likely to run on Google’s WearOS 4.
According to the teaser video, the OnePlus Watch 2 is confirmed to offer a circular display, and it also has a rotating bezel, similar to that of the Apple Watch. The Watch seems to have a metal casing and an easy-to-replace strap. Just like the original OnePlus Watch, the company is also expected to announce limited edition variants of this smartwatch in the coming days.
OnePlus launched its first smartwatch back in 2021, which was on the cheaper side compared to its contemporaries. However, it ran on a custom RTOS, which lacked third-party app support. Similarly, the company also launched an even more affordable Nord Watch (review) and a fitness band at a later date.
With the upcoming iteration, the company is likely to address all these issues, and considering the official tease, the brand is likely to make the possible OnePlus Watch 2 official in the next few weeks.
