Will expose JDU,says Sushil Modi

Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday said the BJPs sole agenda in the state till the Lok Sabha

Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday said the BJPs sole agenda in the state till the Lok Sabha elections would be to expose JDUs pseudo secularism and the party would take every bit of the credit for being equal partner in Bihars turnaround story.

Modi told The Indian Express that though there was a deep sense of hurt after the split,he has moved on and tendered his resignation as the chairman of empowered committee of state finance ministers to the Union Finance Minister. He is currently preparing for BJP president Rajnath Singhs visit to Patna on June 23.

We will tell people how the JDU engaged in politics of convenience after the emergence of a strong EBC leader,Narendra Modi. The JDU cannot stand to gain by harping on the 2002 Godhra riots. Lalu Prasad has been trying this, but without success, he said.

He added that the JDU will not gain Muslim votes by snapping ties,as everyone can see through their belated move of secularism.

Asked about BJPs role as an opposition party now,Modi said,We were in power for seven and a half years,we cannot criticise the government. We will concentrate on asking people to punish the JDU for its politics of convenience behind the façade of Narendra Modi factor.

Asked if Narendra Modis poll campaign will make it a communal versus secular debate,Modi said,Narendra Modi has been speaking about development. It is the Congress and now the JDU that present him in a bad light. Modi said the party, during its campaign, would play up the development work carried out by the NDA government. We were equal partners in Bihars turnaround story. We will take every bit of the credit for all the good work done, he said.
