Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri's business might be suffered due to Dhurandhar's amazing box office run. Thus a report by Bollywood Hungama explains that for cinema to thrive sustainably, it’s crucial that theatres allocate screens and show times fairly among new releases and ongoing films, rather than letting one movie dominate at the expense of others. Especially during a film’s opening weekend, adequate visibility through a balanced share of screens and prime time slots allows audiences to discover it organically, build word-of-mouth, and truly judge its potential — something that sparse or poorly timed shows can distort. A recommended structure, like a 40% share of shows for new films, ensures that both established hits and fresh titles have the opportunity to reach viewers, helping create an environment where multiple stories and films can coexist, compete, and contribute to a vibrant theatrical landscape.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Movie Review LIVE Updates: Kartik-Ananya's film releases on Christmas.Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri hits theatres on Friday. Directed by Satyaprem Ki Katha filmmaker Sameer Vidwans, the film marks Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s reunion after six long years, following their 2019 outing Pati Patni Aur Woh. The release is also significant as it brings together Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan for the first time since their much-publicised fallout in 2021 over Dostana 2.
This is Kartik Aaryan’s first release after the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 last year. Ananya Panday, meanwhile, was last seen in Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari 2, which was also backed by Dharma Productions. After the trailer came out, several viewers drew parallels with films such as Chalte Chalte, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Hum Tum, the makers have maintained that the film offers a fresh take on the genre.
The film will face some tough competition on its opening day as despite the holiday season in full swing, the cinemas are currently dominated by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, which has now made over Rs 900 crore at the global box office, and is refusing to slow down. It is yet to be seen if Kartik-Ananya’s film will manage to make a mark mid Dhurandhar wave.
Officially announced in December last year, the film wrapped its shoot on October 30 after a 57-day schedule. It was filmed across picturesque locations including Croatia, Rajasthan, Agra, and Mumbai. The music has been composed by Vishal–Shekhar, with the title track releasing on November 28, followed by the second single Hum Dono on December 5. The album also features a recreated version of the iconic Saat Samundar Paar from the 1992 film Vishwatma.
On Thursday, the Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday's film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri had morning shows occupancy of just 18.18%, while Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar saw 31.20% occupancy in the morning on its Day 21. The data is shared by trade site Sacnilk
X user @aavishhkar shared Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri review that read, "#tumerimainteramainteratumeri is a SILLY and STUPID affair with good intentions, that works only in a few scattered moments. Rating: ⭐️⭐️ The film does have its share of good songs (special mention to the post-interval wedding medley), a few heartwarming scenes and some comic sequences that land well. However, what it sorely lacks are emotions and chemistry between the two leads. It never truly touches the heart. Film also feels too illogical at times. Love stories can afford to be illogical but there needs to be conviction. That was missing. Both #kartikaaryan and #ananyapanday deliver decent performances. Kartik looks dapper but sounds loud in many scenes and he really needs to step out of his #akshaykumar zone. Ananya looked her best in the film and shows her mettle in the dramatic scenes but due to the way her character is written, she comes across as illogical at several points. Jackie Shroff has his moments and does well. Neena Gupta is fine. This is easily the WORST film by #sameervidwans so far. The story is ordinary, the conflict is silly (with right intentions though) and as a result, the screenplay feels odd and uninteresting. It breaks my heart to see they wasted such a fine concept. This one didn’t work for me. #tumeramainterimainteratumerireview."
Trade site Sacnilk shared that by 1 pm, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri earned around Rs 1.78 Cr India net on its first day.
Trade Analyst Joginder Tuteja posted, "Movie review - #tumerimainteramainteratumeri An entertainer that surprises beyond the core romcom plot. The romcom element was always there, as the title suggested. You did expect strong emotional elements too between #kartikaaryan and #ananyapanday. However it’s the last act of the film which turns out to be an absolute surprise, and a pleasant one at that. More so since you didn’t see that coming. It’s the family angle which makes the film so different as it gets into a reverse DDLJ mode, as you would see in there. #jackieshroff and #neenagupta are so endearing here, and especially the scene between former and Kartik stands out in a big way. In fact Kartik goes on to show yet again that he is amongst the most reliable and eye pleasing young actors around. He is in complete form here, be it romance, humour or drama. Ananya looks quite beautiful and delivers an able performance. She is convincing as a young woman who takes her stand. Jackie Shroff and Neena Gupta deliver heartwarming performances. #sameervidwans keeps the proceedings easy with #tmmtmttm and while he keeps the first half decent to good, he adds a lot more weight to the second half, especially the last 20-25 minutes which are the highlight. With word of mouth doing the talking, and the holiday period going in its favour, the film should find enhanced footfalls with every passing day."
Trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal added, "#kartikaaryan delivers a confident and sincere performance, balancing romance, comedy, and emotion with ease, his scene with Jackie shroff in hospital will trend on social media for sure, #ananyapanday looks beautiful and brings warmth to her role, sharing a natural chemistry with Kartik. #jackieshroff and #neenagupta add solid support by bringing depth and grace to their characters. The music and background score by #vishalsheykhar complement the film well, enhancing both the romantic and emotional beats. The comedy scenes are well-timed while the emotional moments feel honest rather than forced. Overall, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is a fun filled solid entertainer, 4* A film that blends romance, family drama, humour, and emotion, making it a suitable watch for audiences across all age groups…. Must Watch….. "
Trade analyst Rohit Jaiswal shared via X, "REVIEW - #tmmtmttm #tumerimainteramainteratumeri turns out to be a pleasant, feel-good watch that works well as a romantic but a solid family drama….. The Croatia portions are a visual treat. The picturesque locations beautifully capture the phase where Kartik & Ananya falls in love….. The first half flows effortlessly, lighthearted, romantic, and filled with fun moments that keep the mood easy and engaging.Whereas, The second half shifts gears into a more dramatic space, focusing on relationships, family bonds, and emotional conflicts….. What works strongly in the film is the emphasis on tradition and values, especially the respect and importance given to parents. The story doesn’t just celebrate young love, but also highlights the silent sacrifices parents make for their children, a message that lands with genuine emotion."
The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta rated Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM) just 1.5 stars. In her review, she described the Kartik Aaryan–Ananya Panday starrer as “2.5 hours of glossily vacuous tosh,” questioning whether this is truly the best mainstream Bollywood can offer its clearly defined Gen Z audience. While a couple of subplots briefly allow supporting characters some space, Gupta noted that even these feel forced. She pointed to Rumi’s sister Jia (Chandni Bhabhda), whose Tinder fling is hurriedly turned into a wedding, seemingly only to bring the gloomy wedding planner back into the story—already bound by a Pinky promise to win over his dulhaniya.

Trade Analyst Ramesh Bala shared Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Movie review that read, "A warm, wholesome rom-com and drama that works beautifully on the big screen.. The film scores high on emotion, scale, and sincerity, making it a perfect festive watch for families and couples alike..@TheAaryanKartik delivers one of his most charming performances, while @ananyapandayy continues to impress with confidence and emotional depth.. Their chemistry feels natural and is the backbone of the film..The music, visuals, and production values elevate the storytelling and add to the cinematic appeal.. Overall, it’s a feel-good entertainer that leaves you smiling and satisfied as you walk out of the theatre."
Trade Analyst Sumit Kadel added, "#kartikaaryan is top-notch as Ray. He is excellent in comedy scenes, but as always, he truly excels in emotional moments. Once again, he proves how capable he is when it comes to drama and emotions and very few actors can cry on screen the way he does. #ananyapanday supports Kartik well. She looks very beautiful, and her acting shows noticeable maturity compared to earlier performances. #jackieshroff and #neenagupta are the soul of the film. Both veteran actors deliver outstanding performances. #sameervidwans’ direction is strong, and he succeeds in keeping the audience engaged throughout. After Satya Prem Ki Katha, he once again delivers an honest film for the family audience. The film’s drawback is its first half. If Kartik and Ananya’s journey in Croatia had a bit more depth, it would have elevated the film further. However, the second half completely overshadows the shortcomings of the first. Overall, #tmmt is a clean, wholesome film that family audiences are sure to enjoy during the Christmas–New Year festive period. #tumerimainteramainteratumerireview."

Trade Analyst Sumit Kadel shared his review for Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri that read, "REVIEW #tmmt - BEAUTIFUL ENTERTAINER You may or may not go to watch #tumerimainteramainteratumeri with your girlfriend, but you must definitely watch it with your parents. This film is a unique romantic story that places a child’s love and responsibility towards their parents above everything else. The film begins in Croatia with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s love story, but it ends as a beautiful family drama that not only delivers a strong message, but also clearly shows what a child’s duty towards their parents should be. It is a pure, light-hearted family entertainer where humor, romance, and family emotions are blended seamlessly."

Lyricist Anand Bakshi's son slams Saat Samundar Paar remix in Kartik Aaryan-Ananya Panday's film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The remix of the classic song Saat Samundar Paar in the film has sparked a major debate. The original lyricist's family expressed concerns regarding proper credit for the song. The song was originally composed by Viju Shah, written by Anand Bakshi, and sung by Sadhana Sargam and Udit Narayan.
On Wednesday, Anand Bakshi’s son, Rakesh Anand Bakshi, shared a post on Instagram that read, "The producer and or publisher should not claim credit for any writer singer etc as co-lyricist for adding one or two lines to the original lyrics; Like they've put original/additional music in the credits, they could have done it with the lyrics too. This is the format which is currently used in streaming Platforms. They need to reform it. ASAP. It’s 2025 today. Not 25 CE that they can’t effect reform ASAP. @karannawaniii @rajiv_rai_ @viju_shah_music_forever @saregama_official ORIGINAL CREATORS Anand Bakshi आनंद बक्शी🖌 🎶 Viju Shah (I APPRECIATE THE SINGER HAS RECOMPOSED IT SLOWER, AND SUNG IT WELL, BUT I DO NOT APPRECIATE THE LYRICS HE RECREATED, THEY ARE NOT IN KEEPING WITH THE THOUGHT BEHIND THE EARLIER VERSE, ITS A MISMATCH, BREAKS THE CONTINUITY OF THE EARLIER VERSE.)"
Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar has been enjoying a dream run at the box office but with the release of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, the collections might suffer. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh told DNA, "It's a rom-com. It depends on what the content is...I genuinely feel that, Kartik enjoys a good following among the youth. For the sake of the industry, we need a good closure for 2025...The last release - of course, the last major release - that is Kartik's film. I hope it works."
Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday starrer did better pre-release sales than Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. A report by Bollywood Bubble shared that Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani registered around 80,000 advance ticket sales, while Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar closed its advance bookings at approximately 75,000. Similarly, Tere Ishq Mein recorded advance sales of nearly 76,000 tickets. Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has managed to sell around 80,000 tickets before the release.
The screen lights up with some smart writing and a supporting cast that has a blast. Neena Gupta as Ray’s feisty mother and Jackie Shroff as Rumi’s father are in their element, especially Ms Gupta whose Pinky is a promise well kept. She is a mixture of perkiness and prankishness. Neena even gets to shake a leg to her own nostalgic chartbuster Choli ke peeche kya hai. Cute, no? Retro music especially Viju Shah’s Saat samundar paar blankets the bacchanalia and we never feel the chill of the frail plot underneath the singing and dancing. It is all done in the spirit of a swanky sangeet ceremony. Colours have always made a splash in Karan Johar’s cinema. In Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri(the tongue twisting title defines the playful mood) colours are frequently mentioned as a part of the mood of exteriorized revelry. At one point Rumi tells Ray her father doesn’t like the colour green as he was in the army. “Okay then I have a saffron jacket. I will wear that when I come to meet your father.” This is as close to politics as a Karan Johar film can come without puncturing the prevalent party mood.Everyone is in the mood for fun including an Aunty who lusts after Kartik Aaryan while her husband(poor Tiku Talsania) groans, “Sayyam(selfcontrol)”. By the time Kartik and Jackie Shroff do their own SRK-Amrish Puri in DDLJ it is time throw all caution to the winds and just have fun," added Subhash K Jha in his Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Movie Review.
Subhash K Jha added in his Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri review, "Director Sameer Vidwans’ earlier partnership with Kartin Aaryan in Satyaprem Ki Katha was a roomy rom-com underlined by message on a woman’s right to her body. Outwardly Vidwan’s second, far more glamorous and scenic romp in the realm of the rom-com , is a gluten-free though nonetheless selfindulgent affair. It cashes in with insouciant synergy on Kartik Aaryan’s charming chemistry with Ananya Pandey. The two seem to be in the frolicsome mode in the first-half, as cinematographer Anil Mehta captures the Croatian seascape with azure amorousness. The locales are eye-catching and the young fetching couple seem to be attracted to one another in the way they can only be in Karan Johar’s production.Kartik as Ray(from Satyaprem to Ray is a leap of faith) and Ananya Pandey(well groomed and easy on the eyes) as Rumi ,negotiate the absence of dramatic troughs in the first -half with an easygoing banter."
Subhash K Jha shared his review for Kartik Aaryan-Ananya Panday's film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and posted on X, "#tumerimainteramainteratumeri , Kartik Aaryan Romances: The Romcom With Relish. Outwardly, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri suffers a personality disorder. The first, frivolous half about a romantic writer running into a wedding planner on an international airport, and the second-half about two people’s mutual love being trammelled by their family obligations, seem like Venus and Mars on a collision course. But here’s the thing: this Venus is not marred by its leaning in Mars, even if the two halves do seem to be incongruent initially. Somehow it all adds up to a breezy experience, with a generous helping of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to boost the buoyancy."
Rajiv Raji, whose film Vishwatama carried the original song 'Saat Samundar Paar', told Mid-day previously, "It’s a bad trend where (filmmakers) are using (old) songs and claiming that they are taking (the rights) from the music company. What has happened here is that Saregama thinks it owns the music of Vishwatma. The label can use the songs (for TV shows and stage performances), but it cannot take the music from my film and put it in another movie. They must approach me for my permission, pay me for it, and everything needs to be documented legally."
Kartik Aaryan, in a chat with Filmfare, spoke about working with ex-girlfriend Ananya Panday, and said, "She and I understand each other a lot. It’s been a journey. We’ve had our moments in life and we’ve seen the ups and downs. And somewhere down the line, I’ve realised that both of us, as individuals, have really evolved and grown into that space. Mine and Ananya’s relationship has never been about hatred or love–hate. It’s always been love, love, love, irrespective of the situation in life. I’ve always had a soft corner for her, and I would like to believe she has that for me too."
Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday have previously worked together in 2019's Pati Patni Aur Woh. This is their second film together.
As per trade tracker Sacnilk, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has made advance sales of Rs 4.44 crore, with blocked seats. Without the block seats, the number stands at Rs 3.06 crore.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, will release in cinemas on Thursday. The film will face tough competition against Dhurandhar, that continues to dominate the box office in its third week.
