(Photo/ANI)North India Weather Live Updates: After days of recording dense fog conditions, the weather improved in Delhi early Thursday, with hardly any fog over at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast. The visibility on Christmas day increased — from just 100 metres on Wednesday to 2,500 metres — early on Thursday. The weather agency predicted no fog over the IGI Airport till noon, as well as in the subsequent 12 hours, as the AQI monitoring station in the area logged an AQI of 121, as of 5:30 am.
Air quality improves in Delhi: The morning skies were seen to be clearer in several parts of Delhi, as the air quality in the national Capital improved somewhat to the “poor” category, with an average AQI reaching 221 at 5:30 am, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System (EWS). A thin layer of smog, however, continues to prevail over some parts of the Capital.

Weather in other parts of North India: Shimla in Himachal Pradesh witnessed clear skies on Thursday, with the weather expected to remain dry and pleasant over the next three days, news agency PTI reported. Isolated to scattered light or moderate rainfall/snowfall is very likely over the Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad region between December 27 and 30, according to the IMD forecast. The agency forecast similar weather conditions in Himachal Pradesh on December 28 and 30, while over Uttarakhand on December 29 and 30.
