CHANDIGARH, Jan 6: A computer centre has been directed by the UT Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum to refund fee of a student for failing to provide the promised computer training, along with interest at the rate of 12 per cent. Aman Deep Garg, a resident of Sector 7 filed a complaint against properitor of Computer Joint (India) Limited, SCO 2407-08, Sector 22, alleging that inspite of paying the full fee, he was not provided the promised computer training.

The complainant alleged that although he paid Rs 5,000 to the computer centre, when he went to the institution for training there was no arrangement for the same. In an ex parte proceedings, the forum comprising of president R P Bajaj and members H S Walia observed that the opposite party was guilty of deficiency in service and directed the centre to refund the fee to the complainant along with interest at the rate of 12 per cent and Rs 1,100 compensation for harassment.
