Punjab College of Technical Education (PCTE) organised its third annual convocation function at the campus. About 300 degrees were given to the graduates from different disciplines. Rajinder Gupta,CMD of the Trident Group of Industries,was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr KNS Kang,Director General of the PCTE Group of Institutes,gave away the degrees to the students.
At the convocation function,prizes were also given to students who bagged the first,second and third positions in their degree in the University exams.
Manpreet Kaur Sangha student of BBA was awarded Wg Cdr H S Gill Memorial Gold Medal along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for being the most outstanding student of the college. The award was given for excellence in academics,cultural and extra-curricular activities at the college and national level.
Kang congratulated the graduates and winners of the prizes. He said that there are 140 colleges in Punjab Technical University and six batches of the college are passing out this year.
Out of these five batches bagged three gold medals and three silver medals have been bagged by PCTE students Rajinder Gupta,while addressing the students,said that there are lots of opportunities existing in the environment. What we need is the right attitude and direction to grab them.
Gupta also stressed that if we want to compete at the international level,we must be innovative and creative; that would help us gain a competitive position.
