The stilettos of once-upon-a-time Miss Indias have been treading the glitzy path to Bollywood for some time. Now Sarah Jane Dias,a pageant winner from two years ago,has got her ticket to B Town. She will be romancing Abhishek Bachchan in an upcoming action thriller,Crooked.

“When I went for the audition,I was asking myself why they would cast me,” says Dias. “Then the following day the director Abhinay Deo called me to narrate the script and I was stunned when I realised that I had bagged the offer.” She is in the lead,along with Kangana Ranaut and Shahana Goswami. “I hadn’t been on a movie set before and I sat there,as a silent spectator,rehearsing my lines,” she says.

While most fresh-off-the-boat models look forward to signing Bollywood offers,Dias started by hosting shows on Channel V. “It was very recently that I decided to audition for films. Earlier,I was doubtful whether anyone would want to cast me. But with this opportunity,I promise to give it my all,” says the 27-year-old who is taking diction lessons from Shabana Azmi,dance lessons from Vaibhavi Merchant and has Deanne Pandey handling her fitness.
