Man,nephew held for drug trafficking

NEW DELHI: A man and his nephew were arrested from Northeast Delhi for drug trafficking on Wednesday,police said. Two kg of heroin,worth Rs 2 crore,was seized from their possession. A case was registered against them under the NDPS Act. According to police,Shamshad (45) and his nephew Firaq (22) used to procure heroin from Rajasthan and supply it in places across Delhi and Ghaziabad. “The two accused were arrested near Hanuman Mandir in Northeast Delhi’s Gokulpuri area at 9 am,when they came to deliver a heroin consignment to a contact in Meerut,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sanjay Bhatia.

Six attack policeman after car accident,held

Gurgaon: Six youths attacked a policeman during an altercation that followed a car accident near SRS Mall on Monday night. Sources said the six persons were involved in a car accident in the area,and they turned on Head Constable Trilok Chand when he tried to intervene. The six have been remanded in judicial custody.

Man held for theft at naval officer’s house

NEW DELHI: Police on Wednesday arrested a man for stealing jewellery and a mobile phone from the house of a naval officer in Shankar Vihar. Babloo (19),a resident of Jamdua village in Sitapur,used to worked as a domestic help. “On July 23,Commander P K Jaswani filed a complaint with the Vasant Vihar police that a mobile phone and some jewellery had been stolen from his house,”said Chhaya Sharma,Deputy Commissioner of Police (South). After a probe,police found that the phone was being used by Babloo,which led to his arrest.
