Punjab comes up with single guide for developers

In its endeavour to simplify the processes and facilitate real estate developers in the completion of routine official formalities,the Punjab government has,for the first time,come up with a single document guide to provide entire information required by the realtors in their day-to-day business.

In its endeavour to simplify the processes and facilitate real estate developers in the completion of routine official formalities,the Punjab government has,for the first time,come up with a single document guide to provide entire information required by the realtors in their day-to-day business.

The 66-page Information Guide contains complete information on how to get registration as promoter,permission for change of land use,licence for setting up colony and guidelines of mega and super mega projects. It also has the proforma of forms required by the realtors for applying and getting these works done,besides the government notifications issued from time-to-time concerning the real estate developers.

An initiative of the Department of Housing and Urban Development,it provides background on urban development in Punjab,masterplans and incentives given for developers in the state,a senior official said.

From documents required to specimens of the forms to be submitted,checklist of documents,office reports and processing time,this guide has it all for what the developers were till now had to roam around various offices, said the officer.

He said the document,priced at Rs 500,will not only educate the developers about the basic laws and rules but will also make them aware about the reporting departments and agencies for various formalities related to their business.

The guide will inform the developers about the general procedures,conditions,classifications,project area norms and incentives available in Punjab.
