Online matrimonial portal Shaadi.com has launched its services in Chandigarh and has unveiled its first ‘Var Vadhu Parichay Sandhya’ and the Bride ‘N’ Beauty exhibition at Hotel Aroma. This is the company’s first centre in Chandigarh and its fourth in Punjab after operational centres in Ludhiana,Bhatinda and Patiala. The centre will be an offline retail enterprise of Shaadi.com providing well-trained advisers assisting members to seek a desired match from lakhs of prospective brides and grooms from a nationwide database after a comprehensive research. “Thirty-five percent of our members are from Punjab and through this event we hope to give something back to the Punjabi community,” remarked Gunjan Sinha of Shaadi.com as she went on to add,“We have about 400 centres across 76 cities and the response we received here has been really good. Around 70 participants have registered with us for this event and we are providing them a platform with unlimited choices.”

Talking about the recent trends in the marriage market Sinha shared,“Professionals have always been in demand but presently there is an increasing demand for IT professionals. Since recession,government professionals are gaining eminence because of the stability factor. Typically,there are more men than women with an overall ratio of 58:42. Our customer relations team comprises of nearly hundred people who manually go through each profile to check the authenticity of the information provided. There is particular watermarking done and the profiles are tamper proof. Every precaution is taken to guard the security and well-being of our members.” A wedding catalogue was also released on the occasion as well as a wedding checklist and helpful information for would-be brides.
