Double delight for Nadia

Maintaining her winning momentum,Nadia Saini rallied to another victory after she defeated Nirdosh in finals to claim the women's singles title in the Prof.

Maintaining her winning momentum,Nadia Saini rallied to another victory after she defeated Nirdosh in finals to claim the women’s singles title in the Prof. RS Mehta Memorial Invitational Table Tennis Tournament held at Sector 23 Table Tennis Hall on Sunday. She also claimed the girls’ youth title after defeating Nirdosh in the final.

Nadia,a student of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women,Sector 26,was in top form as she did not drop any game throughout the match and defeated Nirdosh of Ludhiana 11-7,11-8,11-6,11-6. Earlier,she had defeated Amritsar’s Mandakni 4-11,11-5,11-8,11-7,11-9 in the semi-finals,while Nirdosh outplayed Kalyani 11-3,11-7,11-9,11-8.

In the youth girl’ category,she won 9-11,11-13,11-5,11-8,9-11,11-3,11-5. Meanwhile,Vikram Aditya outclassed Rahul Malhotra (Amritsar) in the final 11-3,11-7,11-4,11-4 to win the men’s singles title.
