RLA invites applications for new series
The Registration and Licensing Authority Sector 17,has invited applications for vanity numbers for the new series CH 01 AS from March 5 till March 15. Details regarding the new series are available on the website http://www.chd.transport.gov.in. However the date of auction for the new series is yet to be fixed. Also,in a first,the RLA,Monday issued 150 driving licenses,applications for which were also received on Monday.
Students awarded at PGGCG-11
More than 500 prizes were awarded to the students under various categories at an annual function held at the Post Graduate Government College for Girls,Sector 11 on Monday. As many as 346 prizes were awarded to the students for their excellent academic performance. 87 prizes were given to those students who participated in various extracurricular activities.
Panel clears 40 PU appointments
A committee,formed by the Panjab University (PU) authorities to look into the appointments of assistant professors in various departments,has cleared 40 cases,but is yet to decide on cases wherein candidates have either moved representations or have filed cases in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Street play satirises contemporary issues
In an effort to showcase the current issues of society like political inaction,corruption,and human trafficking,an increasing number of rape cases and an ineffective judiciary,the students of the DAV College Dramatics Club,Aaghaz,presented a street play Buri Nazar Wale at the Student Centre of the Panjab University campus in Chandigarh on Monday. The play highlighted the need to cure corruption and terrorism and violence in satire.
Maize is the future of Punjab: Agri experts
Maize is a crop of future in Northern India,opined agricultural experts while addressing agriculturists and industrialists at the sixth Progressive Farmers Meet 2013,jointly organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Mehram publications Pvt Ltd at CII headquarters on Monday. Agricultural experts addressed people on the issue of crop diversification,and presented maize as a suitable substitute of rice in northern India.
