Chandigarh students held for creating nuisance,released

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the rounded up youngsters were found to be the students of different colleges in Chandigarh,who were living as paying guests in Chandigarh and had come here to participate in a party thrown by one of the girls on her birthday.

Society residents Kulwant Kaur,Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu,Arvind Chagga and others told Newsline that they heard loud noises of some boys and girls from the swimming pool of the society at around 1 am on Sunday. “When the nuisance continued till 2 am ,we went near the swimming pool and noticed some young boys and girls indulging in indecent acts and creating ruckus in an inebriated condition,” they revealed. Society’s security guard also tried to stop them but was also threatened by the youngsters,claimed the residents.

Sub Inspector Gurvinder Singh,who led a police party to the spot,said the preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had gathered at a flat in the society,which belonged to a relative of one of the youths,to celebrate the birthday of a Chandigarh BA-II girl student. Zirakpur SHO Yogi Raj said the rounded up boys and girls were released today after they apologised and their parents,who were called,undertook not to repeat any such act in future.
