In the run up to the state Assembly elections due in December this year,the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Saturday announced the appointment of 10 state spokespersons.
While party sources said the appointments had been done to satisfy various factions of the party,state party chief Arjun Modhwadia said 10 spokespersons were appointed keeping in view the increase in the workload during elections.
During elections we need people at different places to give the partys views to the media and hence,we required more than two or three spokespersons, said Modhwadia.
Those appointed spokespersons are Jayantilal Parmar,Manish Doshi,Gaurav Pandya,Kishorsinh Solanki,Chetan Raval,Himanshu Vyas,Jayrajsinh Parmar,Hriday Buch,Amiben Yagnik and Hitesh Patel alias Pochi. Buch and Yagnik are advocates. Jayantilal Parmar is the oldest spokesperson.
