When Ricardo Juarez, a resident of Riverside in US California, decided to propose to his girlfriend Ramona Gutierrez by invading the pitch of a baseball game, he was hoping that the proposal will be caught up by cameras on the jumbotron. Instead what he got was a brash tackling by security guards and a one-year ban from attending any matches at the Dodger Stadium.

In a now-viral video of the public proposal, Juarez is seen running to the pitch, as the baseball game goes on in the background. He then gets on his knee with the engagement ring. His girlfriend Stephani Ramona Gutierrez stands surprised at the stands as some people cheer and some boo in the background. However, seconds later, a security staff tackles Juarez to the ground and then two more security men rush towards him and tackle him.

The Orange County Register reported that Juarez was handcuffed and escorted off the field. The 35-year-old sushi chef was given a one-year ban from Dodger Stadium along with a citation by the police.

Gutierrez accepted the proposal after Juarez was released. In a Facebook post, Stephani Ramona Gutierrez shared a photo in which she is wearing the engagement ring and wrote, “Tad bit extreme 😂🙌🏼 but he’s a LEO what can you expect 😂 And of course I said YES !”. The couple plans to get married earlier this year on August 5.
