On the global front, the Aditya Dhar directorial has now crossed the Rs 800 crore mark worldwide and is just a few crores away from surpassing the lifetime collection of Kantara: The Legend – Chapter 1, positioning itself to become the highest-grossing Indian film of the year. Kantara 2 earned Rs 852.27 crore globally.
The Aditya Dhar directorial has also achieved another major milestone by overtaking the lifetime worldwide collection of Vicky Kaushal’s period drama Chhaava, which also starred Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna. Released on Valentine’s Day, Chhaava had wrapped up its global run at Rs 807.91 crore.
On Sunday, Dhurandhar recorded an impressive overall occupancy of 61.89% across 5,332 shows, underlining its sustained audience pull.
If the current pace continues, Dhurandhar is well on track to cross the Rs 1,000 crore mark worldwide—a first in Ranveer Singh’s 15-year career. Even his critically acclaimed blockbusters Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat had concluded their runs at approximately Rs 357 crore and Rs 585 crore, respectively.
Originally, Dhurandhar was expected to face competition from Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahlawat and Dharmendra. However, the makers of Ikkis pushed its release from Christmas to January 1, clearing the path further for Dhurandhar. The film, however, might face competition from Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in the lead roles.

Here's what Dhruv Rathee said about Dhurandhar in his video in terms of how it portrays the negative characters, “Dhurandhar is an engaging film. Keeping this in mind, the film shows that our country’s Intelligence agencies hire criminals. There is another big problem in the film Dhurandhar — gangsters' depiction. Rehman Dakait. He was a devilish kind of guy. But in the film, his character has a different cool swagger. He delivers dialogues and the dance goes viral on Instagram... This is crazy,” he says.
Actor Ankit Sagar, who played Javed Khanani in the film Dhurandhar was asked in an earlier interview about R Madhavan’s character Ajay Sanyal which is loosely based on India NSA chief Ajit Doval saying in the film that ‘Ek Hindustani hi doosre Hindustani ka sabse bada dushman hai (An Indian is the biggest enemy of another India)’ is pushing Dhar’s agenda.
While the actor said he stayed away from politics, he added, "That was the situation in India at the time. This must have been researched, the director must have shown it based on it. Demonetisation happened… there must have been a reason. So many such things have happened especially in this country. While I cannot say anything as an actor… kuch to hua hoga (something must have happened)."
A fan shared a detailed Dhurandhar review on Reddit that read, "I watched Dhurandhar three days ago and that shit is still running through my head. The last time a movie stayed with me for a few days after perfect theatre experience was Vikram. All I knew about the movie beforehand was its cast, the positive reviews and its runtime that's it. It was a fresh and perfect experience for me. Movie was so damn good. This is how a mass commercial film should be like real shit. This is how a spy thriller should really be. In an interview with Filmygyan, the Dhurandhar song Shararat’s choreographer Vijay Ganguly revealed that his choice was Tamannaah Bhatia. "In my head, she was (the one). I had suggested her, but Aditya was very clear that he did not want what people call an item song, something that went out of the story. If it were just about one girl, it would have taken attention away from the story." Eventually, Aditya convinced Vijay to have two dancers, instead of one in the song, which is how Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souzacame into the picture.
The song Shararat appears in the film during a wedding celebration, and shows two dancers - played by Ayesha and Krystle - performing for the guests at the high-profile Karachi wedding.

The Dhurandhar fever even managed to beat Hollywood spectacle Avatar: Fire and Ash at the Indian box office. Avatar 3 made Rs 25.4 Cr on Day 3 of it's release and it's total collection at the Indian Box Office now stands at Rs 66.65 cr after three days of release.
Dhurandhar is now eyeing Stree 2's collection. The film made Rs 884.45 crores worldwide and Dhurandhar can very well surpass it within a day or two of it's run at the box office. Ranveer Singh film has already made Rs 845 crore.

Trade site Sacnilk shared that Dhurandhar had an overall 63.94% Hindi Occupancy on Sunday, December 21, 2025. While the morning shows had 45.83% occupancy, afternoon shows had 77.94%, evening shows had 80.38% and night shows had 51.59% occupancy

After storming ahead of Animal, Dhurandhar is now eyeing Stree 2 (Rs 597 cr) and Chhaava (Rs 601 cr) records. It is likely to emerge as seventh highest earner on the list within the week. Kantara Chapter 1 (Rs 622 cr) is on the fifth spot.
Dhurandhar is now among the 10 highest grossing Indian films of all time. It took over Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal, and occupied the 10th spot with Rs 555.7 crore earning on day 17. Ranbir Kapoor's film's lifetime earning was Rs 553 crore.
The way Dhurandhar is going, it will destroy a few of year 2025's biggest records. The film has earned Rs 555 cr in India till now and will soon overtake Chhaava as the highest Indian earner of the year. The Vicky Kaushal film made Rs 585 crores.
Dhurandhar has recorded the second highest third weekend collection, only behind Pushpa 2: The Rule, which collected Rs 103 crores net in India.
Dhurandhar has earned an estimated Rs 100 crore from its third weekend. It earned Rs 22.5 crore on Friday. On the third Saturday, Dhurandhar recorded a 50% jump over Friday with Rs 34.25 crores net, and then earned Rs 38.25 crores net on the third Sunday, bringing it almost to Rs 100 crores net, a new all-time record.
After Pushpa 2, Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar is the second fastest film in India to enter Rs 500 cr club. While Pushpa 2 managed the feat in 11 days, Dhurandhar did it in 16. At the third spot is Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
Dhurandhar has become a real behemoth. The film earned a massive Rs 38.25 crore on third Friday, taking its total domestic net collection to over Rs 555 crore.
