Shows like Emily in Paris, Sex and the City, and Gossip Girl have fuelled a renewed obsession with luxury fashion, turning brands like Dior, Chanel, and Gucci into pop culture. Recently, a video of a woman finding a Christian Louboutin bag while collecting garbage in an affluent neighbourhood has gone viral.
Thrifted home style influencer Claudia Von shared the video on Instagram, showing her driving around a wealthy area to pick up trash.
In the video, she spots several items near the trash bins, including a broken black purse near one of the many bins. She gets out of her car, and finds out it is a Christian Louboutin Purse.
She comes across another item from the same brand, along with a headband, and even shows the price tag, which reveals the item was worth $1,590 (around Rs 1.42 lakh). She admits that some viewers might find it unusual to use discarded items, but emphasised that the purse was a rare and valuable find.
She discovers several more items, including a folding camp chair, which she says she plans to give to someone in need. She then finds a baby crib, which she identifies as a Restoration Hardware piece. She also spots a small table partly buried in the snow, followed by a standing desk, and even a bed on another street.
Sharing the video, she wrote, “Luxury doesn’t disappear when it breaks. Garbage picking in a rich neighborhood!”

The video quickly went viral, garnering a wave of reactions, and several users advised Claudia to get the luxury bag repaired.
“The bag! The bag! The bag! Louibiton would probably repair it for you.. Hermes absolutely do repairs, I bet L do too.. worth a shot,” a user wrote. “You are a legend giving these things a new life instead of having it end up in a land filled,” another user commented.
“The crib legit makes me mad. Like take it to once upon a time or find a domestic violence shelter or something,” a third user reacted.
