August 19: Janhavi Deshpande will play Shalmali Mhatre in the final of the Open District table tennis tournament at the YMCA Andheri, today.

In the semifinals of the tournament sponsored by Rotary Club, Janhavi beat Shalmali Inamdar 21-17, 18-21, 21-18, 21-17 while Shalmali Mhatre beat Mangala Saraf 21-12, 21-18, 21-16 to set up the title clash.

Shalmali Inamdar, however, had some consolation in the girls singles. She downed Shivali Nayak 21-10, 21-5, 22-20 to make the semi-final grade.
