After Bihari ‘samosawala’ took the internet by storm for selling the beloved snack in London, another entrepreneur from the state has caught the Internet’s eye, this time on the streets of Los Angeles, by selling chai and poha.

The viral video shows Prabhakar Prasad revealing the prices of the tea and poha he sells in Los Angeles, which are Rs 782 and Rs 1,512, respectively. The video was originally shared by an Instagram account identified as @chaiguy_la, which belongs to Prasad.

The video has since gone viral across social media. “A Bihari vendor in Los Angeles charges Rs 782 for tea and Rs 1512 for Poha. His tea and poha are in high demand,” an X handle @NewsAlgebraIND wrote on X.

“Price follows place, not emotion. If demand is high, value is proven — even poha becomes premium,” a user wrote. “I think the quality and preparation do matter so the peoples are interested to pay high otherwise such type of products may not be sold out with a high price tag,” another user commented.

“Its just 8 and 18 dollars. Not much.. You can get tea @ 10 and poha @ 20 rupees in India also,” a third user reacted.

Prasad’s Instagram handle features several videos showing his daily routine of selling chai and the Indian snack poha on the streets of LA. Several of his reels show customers lining up as his food items sell out quickly. In one of the videos, the man also claims that his long hair and moustache often lead people in Los Angeles to compare him to Jesus Christ.

Meanwhile, another viral Bihari vendor triggered backlash after a video of him selling samosas in the UK subway emerged on social media.
