  • Ijaz Ahmed became the fourth Pakistani batsman after Javed Miandad, Salim Malik and Saeed Anwar and 14th player in the history of One-DayInternationals to complete 6000 runs. He achieved this feat when he reached 12 during his knock. It was 210th innings of his 227th ODI.
  • Brian Lara became the fourth West Indian player to lead his team in the World Cup. It was his 22nd ODI.
  • Shivnarine Chanderpaul notched up his 13th half century in his 67th match. It was his third 3rd fifty in seventh world cup match
  • Ricardo Powell became the 94th player to represent West Indies in ODIs.
