Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu Box Office Collection Day 9: Despite screen reduction, Chiranjeevi’s film emerges as the only Sankranti saver with Rs 172 cr India total

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu box office worldwide collection day 9: The Chiranjeevi starrer was one of the four Sankranti releases alongside films headlined by Prabhas, Ravi Teja, and Naveen Polishetty. However, it has emerged as the only successful film among the festive releases.

Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu box office collection day 9: Among the four Sankranti releases with a collective budget of Rs 850 crore, it appears that only Chiranjeevi-starrer Mana Shankaravara Prasad Garu has managed to reach its breakeven point, even if it hasn’t turned into a sensational blockbuster. The film, which opened at Rs 40 crore (including special shows) on Day 1 despite being a Monday release, has remained steady at the box office. On its ninth day (second Tuesday), the film earned nearly Rs 6 crore.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 5.75 crore on its second Tuesday, taking its total India net collection to Rs 171.65 crore.

Meanwhile, the film has already crossed its breakeven mark globally by earning over Rs 245 crore gross overseas, against a reported production budget of Rs 200 crore.

On Day 9, the film recorded an overall occupancy of 23.38% across 1,436 shows. However, the show count has dropped by nearly 920 screens since its opening day, when it was playing in 2,356 shows. Despite this decline, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu has emerged as the only major Sankranti success for the Telugu film industry, as Prabhas’ The Raja Saab (made on a budget of Rs 440 crore) has witnessed a sharp box office decline, with its Tuesday collection estimated at just Rs 73 lakh. That film’s worldwide collection has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in 12 days of its release.

The Prabhas-starrer registered an occupancy of 16.61% across 880 shows on Tuesday. At the time of its release, the film was allotted over 5,000 shows across India in both Telugu and Hindi versions.

Ravi Teja’s Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi has faced a similar fate. On its seventh day, the film collected as little as Rs 55 lakh, taking its total India net collection to Rs 12.65 crore. Currently, the film is running in just around 350 shows nationwide.

The only other film showing relatively better performance after the Chiranjeevi starrer is Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju. Made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, the film opened at Rs 6.15 crore and witnessed growth over the weekend. Within seven days, it collected Rs 38.10 crore in India, while its overseas earnings have already helped the film achieve its breakeven point. The film is currently being screened in over 900 shows across India.
