DHARAMSALA, Dec 9: Dheraj, a love-lorn 25-year-old, set himself on fire as his parents opposed his affair with a girl from another caste.

Police sources said Dheraj had an affair with a girl and wanted to marry her. Yesterday, he came home under the influence of liquor and tried to convince his parents to agree to the marriage. When they refused, he poured kerosene on his head and set himself afire.Then he ran toward his beloved8217;s house. Unfortunately, she was not at home, and when her maternal aunt opened the door, he hugged her.As a result, she also got burnt and was admitted to the hospital. Dheraj was admitted to the hospital with at least 60 pc burns. His brother was also burnt when he tried to rescue him.
