The US-based HRANA group said it had verified 3,090 deaths, including 2,885 protesters, after residents said the crackdown appeared to have broadly quelled protests for now and state media reported more arrests.
Air India issues advisory: Air India issued a travel advisory for passengers stating that the closure of Iran’s airspace forced the airline to reroute flights, causing delays. “Due to the emerging situation in Iran, the subsequent closure of its airspace, and in view of the safety of our passengers, Air India flights overflying the region are now using an alternative routing, which may lead to delays. Some Air India flights where currently rerouting is not possible are being cancelled,” said the flight carrier.

Trump claims execution of Iran protesters ‘has stopped’: US President Donald Trump, on Wednesday, January 14, said that he was told “on good authority” that killings in Iran’s violent crackdown on nationwide protests have stopped and that there were no plans for large-scale executions of demonstrators. “We’ve been told that the killing in Iran is stopping, it’s stopped, it’s stopping, and there’s no plan for executions or an execution or executions.
