PUNE, Feb 15: Manoj Deswandikar of Telco got past the first round, defeating Pravin Phulwade of Balaji Industries in straight games 15-2, 15-0 on the opening day of the Industrial Sports Association ISA Inter-Industry Badminton tournament, organised by Cummins India Limited at the WIE Sports Complex, Shivajinagar, here today.
In the veterans section Nishikant Deshmukh of Bajaj Auto set aside the challenge from Vasant Pendse with a convincing 15-9, 15-4 win in the opening round.
