
LUDHIANA, Aug 5: During the special campaign launched to check violation of traffic rules, 3,982 drivers have been so far challaned in the district. This was disclosed by Deputy Commissioner Arun Goel while addressing a meeting of officers of concerned departments organised to review the progress of the campaign.
The DC informed that the transport department had realised a composition fee of Rs 1.42 lakh while disposing of challans for non-wearing of helmets by drivers of two-wheelers and vehicles running without first aid boxes and pollution check certificates.
