After Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi reunited for an Instagram video to promote Joshi’s Gujarati film Congratulations, fans have been hoping that the trio of 3 Idiots will reunite for a sequel. And it looks like there’s something cooking. Kareena Kapoor, who also starred in the film, took to Instagram on Friday and shared her suspicion that a sequel was probably in the works but she was yet to learn about the same.

Kareena, who recently came back from a holiday in Africa, shared a video and said that the clip featuring the three actors “is from that secret that these three are keeping from us. Like something is fishy and please don’t say this is Sharman’s movie promotion. I think they are gunning for a sequel but only these three. Like how can… without me? I don’t think even Boman knows about this.”

Kareena ends the video saying, “Aakhir chal kya raha hai yaar? (What is going on?) This smells like a sequel for sure.”

In February, Aamir, Sharman and Madhavan, who played Phunsuk Wangdu, Raju and Farhan respectively in Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, got together to promote Sharman’s film. Fans flooded the comments section with “All is well” and many demanded “Please make a sequel.” “Raju, Rancho and Farhan reunion,” wrote one of the fans.

3 Idiots was loosely based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel Five Point Someone and was one of the biggest hits of 2009.
