Bandra police registered a case against bouncers of a club in Bandra for allegedly assaulting two customers while they were dancing inside the pub. One of the victims alleged that a bouncer beat him and kicked him on his forehead, and when the other person who was allegedly assaulted tried to intervene, he was slapped by bouncers too. Police were checking CCTV footage to verify the incident.
According to police, the complainant lives in Mulund (west) and is employed in London. He was in the city to meet his family and alleged that around 11:45pm on Sunday, he and two of his friends visited 145 Club on Ambedkar Road, Bandra (West) for a party.
He claimed that while he was dancing with his friends around 12.40am, two bouncers of the club came and started beating him for no reason, and when he fell on the ground, they kicked him on his forehead and got injured and started to bleed.
They dragged him down the staircase. When his friends tried to intervene and asked why they were beating him, one of the bouncers, identified as Pranay, slapped one of them, the FIR stated.
The complainant called the police control room and a team from Bandra police station came to the spot and the victim was taken to the Bhabha Hospital for medical examination.
“Based on the statement of the victim, we have registered a case against two unknown bouncers under sections 118 (1), 115 (2), 351(2), 352 and 3(5) of the BNS. The bouncers in the club denied the allegation saying that the complainant was drunk and fell on the ground and got injured. But we have asked for CCTV footage of the club to verify the facts. An FIR has been registered,” said a senior officer.
