IndiGo Airlines has been under scrutiny for a week over its massive flight delays and cancellations. Several videos of helpless passengers seeking help from ground staff, many of whom lashed out at them in distress, have flooded the Internet over the weekend. Amid the crisis, a video has surfaced showing a sea of unclaimed luggage at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Shared by ANI, the clip shows numerous suitcases lined up in the airport lobby while several travellers continue to complain about their baggage being missing or still undelivered. “Visuals from Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal-1, where IndiGo passengers’ luggage is lying, amid flight cancellations and delays,” ANI wrote on X.

With over 19,000 views, the video accumulated numerous reactions. Several users criticised IndiGo’s poor management, leaving thousands of passengers stranded across airports. “Tough day for passengers, hoping for swift resolution,” a user wrote. “This is so worryingly sad,” another user commented.
“Sabzi mandi (vegetable market)?” a third user noted.
Meanwhile, the Indian Railways set up a help desk at the Patna airport in Bihar to support passengers facing sudden changes in air travel. The team is guiding passengers towards convenient Rail alternatives for a smooth onward journey,” the Ministry of Railways wrote.

On Monday, Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the government has launched an inquiry into IndiGo’s mass flight cancellations and will take strict action against the operator to set an example for other airlines.
