Rocketry - The Nambi Effect, expected to release by mid-2019, is based on the life of scientist Nambi Narayanan, who was allegedly accused of espionage in 1994 and got arrested. Madhavan has turned a director for the movie.
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will be co-directed by Anant Mahadevan and Madhavan. The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and English and marks the directorial debut of Maddy, who has written and co-produced it as well.

Mumbai, Feb 26 (ANI): Celebrating Sanjay Dutt's release, Bollywood celebrities welcomed Dutt with open arms. Apart from celebs wishing the actor on social media, many of them, including Sophie Choudry, Shakti Kapoor and R. Madhavan, visited actor's residence to welcome him. Dutt's family and friends, including wife Manyata Dutt and filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, were present outside the Yerwada jail in Pune to receive him on Thursday morning. Dutt was arrested for possessing a prohibited weapon AK 56 rifle under the Arms Act, in the Mumbai serial bomb blast case. Expressing his happiness, actor Shakti Kapoor said he met Dutt and could see drastic change in his behaviour. He further said Sanjay is a versatile actor and he will surely help him in whichever way he needs it.
