‘Adopt yoga to remain fit’
Krishan Lal Gupta,President,Patanjali Yog Samiti,has a special enrollment drive to get the membership of Bharat Swabhiman headed by Yog Guru Swami Ramdev had been launched in all districts of the state. He was addressing the concluding function of seven-day free Yog Vigyan Camp conducted at Mullanpur by District Patanjaly Yog Samiti and Bharat Swabhiman .

Manpreet Singh Ayali,Chairman,Zila Parishad,Ludhiana,called upon the people to adopt yoga to remain fit and healthy. In seven-day camp,more than 200 persons from Mullanpur,Dakha and surrounding villages participated.

Health awareness programme held
The Kitchlu Nagar branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad organised a function at Viklang Sahayata Kendra in Rishi Nagar on Monday. Narinder Mittal,state convenor,Viklang Sahayta Kendra,administered the oath of office to office-bearers of the branch. A health awareness lecture was also organised on the occasion. Doctors from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) conducted bone density measurement tests.

Programme on food security at PAU on June 3
The PAU Directorate of Extension Education in collaboration with Dhanuka Agritech is organising a one-day meet on ‘Golden March toward Food Security and Sustainability’ at PAU on June 3. Giving details,the Director of Extension Education,Dr M S Gill said the event was being held at PAU under the Public-Private Partnership programme elaborating that the programme will have deliberations on research highlights of PAU by Dr P S. Minhas,Director of Research,Special remarks by Dr C D Mayee,Chairman of Agriculture Services Recruitment Board,New Delhi,and address by B S Sidhu,Director of Agriculture,Punjab.

PAU to hold training camps
The Director of Extension Education at Punjab Agricultural University Dr M S Gill said in June two training courses for 25-30 participants will be organised. These will include ‘Latest production and post-harvest techniques for handling of fruits & vegetables and banana cultivation’ from June 9-11 for Horticulture Development Officers and training on ‘group-led extension’ from June 24-25 for Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs),HDOs,DESs and KVK scientists.

500 examined at health camp
To mark the birth anniversary of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabaha,Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Group of Medical Institutes organised a free medical camp at Sarabha village under the chairmanship of Avtar Singh Grewal. Langer was served to all. About 500 patients were examined.
