LUDHIANA: Operation and Maintenance cell of MC on Friday disconnected a total of 31 sewer connections in Mayor Hakam Singh Giaspura and his son Jaspal Sings ward.
Most of the connections were illegal while a few had not even paid money to MC after getting a sewerage connection. These connections were in Makkar colony,Samrat colony,new Giaspura,Guru Tegh Bahadur Nagar,Anand Nagar and Sua road. It needs to be mentioned that gastro out-break occurred in many of these colonies. Executive engineer Manjit Singh said,We zeroed in on the Mayor and his sons ward so as to send out a message to the public .

Judge visits Bakhshikhana
JAGRAON: Session Judge SP Bangar visited the Bakshikhana and upcoming court complex here today. While it is being projected some see this visit as a routine visit,yet it comes close on the heels of a surprise visit of three judges of this town at Bakshikhana after receiving a complaint about poor civic conditions there.
Justice Bangar also visited the upcoming new court complex,which is being constructed by the local public works department. It has been learnt that this complex which has been under construction for the past few years will be ready by February-end and will be opened to public in March this year.
On January 7,the Judges,Mandeep Kaur Bedi,Rajiv Vashisht and Ravinder Singh had surveyed the condition of this Bakshikhana.
