An 8-year-old boy died after being hit by a speeding Santro in East Delhis Mayur Vihar Phase III on Saturday night around 9 pm,police said. Neeraj Joshi,a student of class 2 was crossing the road with his mother,when a speeding car knocked down the boy. He was then immediately rushed to a nearby hospital,where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the car,Vinod,was later arrested.
A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered against the driver,police said.
In another accident,a 50-year old woman was crushed to death by a Blueline bus when she was crossing a road in Central Delhis Desh Bandhu Gupta Road on Sunday evening.
The bus first hit the woman,and after she fell down,she was crushed under the front tyres of the bus,police said.
The bus driver,Surinder,has been arrested. The womans identity is still unknown and police is trying to trace her relatives.
The incident was happened around 4pm and a passerby informed the police. The woman was then rushed to a nearby hospital,where she was declared dead on arrival.
A case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver of the Blueline bus.
