It has been almost a month since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the demonetisation of high-value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs1,000, but people are still dealing with the aftereffects. While many have expressed their discontent over the improper execution of the decision and the impact it has had on their lives, others have applauded the PM and the government for taking the decision. Meanwhile, comedy outfit All India Bakchod, popularly known as AIB, has come up with what they call ‘The Demonetisation Circus’ — a satirical take on the perceived good that demonetisation is going to bring and how far people have gone to support the decision.

The video shows how people think demonetisation is going to affect the others the least, and them the most — “Yeh gareebon ka achcha hai yaar, aaram se ghar pe baitho, kyunki 500-1000 ke to note hi nahi hai (these poor will be fine, they don’t make transactions in Rs 500, Rs 1,000 any way)”, says one, while the other says,”Yeh ameero ka to achcha hai, ameer hai (these rich people will not be affected, because they are rich).”

Then they talk about the lines that are most often used when people complain of standing in the long bank and ATM queues — about how they have no problem standing in line for the latest iPhone, but cannot stand in line for their country! How soldiers stand on the borders to protect us, but we cannot stand for two hours or so.

In a nutshell, in one video, you can see all the many debates that have been playing out around the ‘demonetisation issue’.
