The memorandum, signed by 146 people, said that the “targeted killings” highlight the need for “every right-thinking citizen to observe nonviolence at all costs and respect a democratic process which inherently rejects revenge, aggression, and retaliation”.
“Many political parties promise many things before elections but never fulfilled them. We have always tried to fulfil all our promises. Today our Cabinet decided to implement three such projects,” Banerjee told reporters after a Cabinet meeting.
Banerjee, who attended a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday, said that while the Centre has agreed to provide an advance of Rs 400 crore to West Bengal, smaller states such as Odisha and Andhra Pradesh were being given Rs 600 crore each.

In fact, as per election results and leads till 6 pm, the BJP's vote share stood at 37.70%, a decline of nearly 3% from its 40.30% votes in 2019. On the other hand, the TMC had increased its vote share to 48.20% from 43.30% in 2019. In other words, a 10% vote gap stood between the two parties.
The TMC chief said the Rs 600 per dose cap for private hospitals would encourage “unscrupulous” practices in the market.
