According to the India Today-Axis My India exit poll, the SP’s Dimple Yadav is expected to win the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. The exit poll predicts that Dimple Yadav will secure a comfortable victory, continuing the Yadav family’s hold on the constituency.

In the previous 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Mulayam Singh Yadav of the SP won the Mainpuri seat by over 94,000 votes, securing 5,92,306 votes. His nearest rival was Prem Singh Shakya of the BJP, who got 4,97,589 votes.

However, Mulayam’s death in October necessitated the by-poll of the Mainpuri parliamentary seat, and the disqualification of SP Azam Khan and BJP’s Vikram Singh Saini as MLAs from Rampur and Khatauli led to the by-elections on these two assembly seats. Azam lost his Assembly membership from Rampur, which he won in 2022 for the 10th time, following his conviction in a hate speech case.
