Investigators said Rawat was running the printing unit, while Agarwal acted as a coordinator who placed orders for fake packaging on the directions of co-accused Shree Ram.
Days after busting an interstate racket involved in the manufacture and sale of spurious Schedule-H medicines, the Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police Crime Branch uncovered an illegal printing unit that supplied fake packaging for the counterfeit products. Police said that two men were arrested in the case.
Police said that a probe had revealed that fake medicines, seized earlier, were being packaged using wrappers designed to closely mimic genuine pharmaceutical brands.
Anil Singh Rawat (46) and Rahul Agarwal (31), both residents of Delhi, were arrested following a raid at the printing press on Rama Road. PPrintolice recovered two dye frames used for printing boxes of Skin Shine ointment, which were allegedly supplied to the accused arrested earlier.
Investigators said Rawat was running the printing unit, while Agarwal acted as a coordinator who placed orders for fake packaging on the directions of co-accused Shree Ram. Ram was arrested earlier along with Gaurav Bhagat and Parmod Kumar Gupta.
Police said efforts are underway to trace other links, including sources of raw material and distributors, to dismantle the entire network.
