In a major goof-up that embarrassed the public, TV screens installed at Bihar’s Patna railway station played a porn clip for three minutes around 9.30am on Sunday, according to reports.

Blurred video clips of the incident have gone viral on Twitter. Passengers lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) about the incident.

An FIR was registered against Dutta Communication, the agency responsible for relaying advertisements on television screens at the station. The Kolkata firm has been blacklisted by the Railway, which has also imposed a fine on the company and reportedly terminated its contract.

The hashtag PatnaJunction trended on Twitter as netizens expressed their shock over the development.
“Just saw #Patna Junction trending and thought it may be good news about the railway redevelopment project, unfortunately, it’s because porn was playing on a big TV screen,” a user tweeted.

“#PatnaJunction Railway Station just got a new attraction: ‘50 Shades of Railways’. Don’t worry, it’s not an official upgrade, but it’s definitely causing a lot of commotion,” posted another.

“After Rajiv chowk in delhi few years ago, porn movie started playing on installed tv screen for advertisement and information at #PatnaJunction. A FIR has been registered against agency responsible for this shameful act,” wrote another netizen.

According to a report in The Times of India, a railway official in Danapur said that East Central Railway headquarters in Hajipur, also in Bihar, was informed of the incident. According to RPF inspector Sushil Kumar, the incident took place when the Danapur divisional railway manager Prabhat Kumar was entering the station for inspection.
