Uthayakumar uploaded a picture of the young guard holding up his phone with unmistakable pride
A heart-warming post from a US-based Indian entrepreneur has set social media abuzz, all thanks to a surprising discovery he made at his own workplace. Harish Uthayakumar wrote on X that the security guard working at his office isn’t just doing his day job but has also quietly built a substantial online following.
Harish wrote, “Today I realised our security guard has three lakh subscribers on YouTube. He started making Bengali skits during Covid when he was 14. What an entrepreneurial guy. If I ever had to make Bengali ads I am gonna get this guy and so should you, I can share the contact.” Along with the post, he uploaded a picture of the young guard holding up his phone with unmistakable pride, showing off his YouTube channel to the camera.
Today I realised our security guard has 300,000 subscribers on YouTube. He started making Bengali skits during Covid when he was 14!

The revelation quickly struck a chord. With over 31,000 views already, Harish’s post has started a wider conversation about hidden potential, self-made success, and how talent often thrives in the most unexpected places. People were quick to chime in with their reactions, many of them both amused and impressed. One X user didn’t hold back, commenting, “He makes infinty times more than u.” Another added, “The absolute hustle is admirable to say the least.”
Not everyone, however, viewed the situation through the same lens. Questioning the economics of YouTube success, one commenter asked, “Then why is he still security guard? Always remember content is free on youtube and anybody can see it. Even people with no money, kids can see it. Your subscriber number doesn’t define your worth. Quality defines it.” Someone else echoed a similar thought: “Why is he still a security guard? like 300k subs should generate more income than his job right?”
Amid the debate, there were also users eager to support the young content creator. “Please DM his contact, I want to collaborate with him,” one of them wrote, capturing the collaborative spirit that often fuels stories like this.
