NHRC issues notice to

The NHRC has issued a notice to DGP Uttar Pradesh and top police officers in Muzaffarnagar and Shamli districts regarding communal violence in the area and allegations of police and district administrations complicity.

The notice was issued after the commission received a complaint from Delhi-based human rights activist R H Bansal requesting direction for maintaining peace in the area and action against the culprits and the public servants responsible for the violence.
