Below the belt

I fail to understand how a glam doll like Rakhi Sawant becomes qualified to sit in judgment over matters that involve families and people’s personal lives.

Referring to “Does TV content need sanitization?” (Screen,December 3),the show Rakhi Ka Insaaf is vulgar in script and presentation. I fail to understand how a glam doll like Rakhi Sawant becomes qualified to sit in judgment over matters that involve families and people’s personal lives. The death of a guest, who had recently been on the show, allegedly due to Rakhi’s acerbic remarks, bears testimony to this insanity. If justice is all that Rakhi cares about, why does she wear clothes that expose more than they hide? She should be dressed in a regular sari,as any female judge would in a court of law. As such, several other television shows like Bigg Boss are also below the belt. What was the need to call Pamela Anderson, just because of her assets,to get higher TRPs? Indian actresses are not behind Hollywood ones in exposing either. Actually,it is all about selling glamour and making money by playing with people’s innocence. TV channels should not air programmes that morally corrupt our society.
