AMRITSAR, APRIL 1: After dismissing Tamil Nadu for 261, and garnering a crucial 83-run lead, hosts Punjab were 109 for 2 in their second venture in the five-day Ranji Trophy quarter-final encounter at Gandhi Ground here today. Pankaj Dharmani was batting on 30 while southpaw Dinesh Mongia was on 19.

Punjab spinners Harbhajan Singh and Sarandeep captured three wickets apiece to chart Tamil Nadu8217;s downfall.

Kanwaljeet mesmerises

HYDERABAD: Master spinner Kanwaljeet Singh, with a career-best haul of eight wickets, spun out Delhi for a paltry 160 runs in their first innings, in reply to Hyderabad8217;s 440 on the third day of the Ranji quarter-final here today. Kanwaljeet pushed his haul to 40 wickets in the current season, boosting his tally to 236 wickets from 84 Ranji matches. This was his eleventh five-wicket haul.

Surprisingly, Hyderabad did not enfore the follow-on.
