REET 2026 Main exam from today; exam day checklist, reporting time

The REET Mains Exam 2026 will consist of 150 objective-type questions carrying a total of 300 marks. The duration of the examination is two hours and thirty minutes. Each correct answer will fetch two marks, while one-third of a mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.

REET Main Exam 2026: The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) is set to conduct the REET Main Examination 2026 for Level 2 candidates starting today, January 17. The exam will be held in offline mode across various centres in Rajasthan over multiple days. As per the official notification, the REET Mains examination will be conducted from January 17 to January 21, 2026. REET 2026 admit cards were released on January 12 and are available on the official website at rssb.rajasthan.gov.in.

The REET Mains Exam 2026 is a recruitment examination for candidates aspiring to become government school teachers in Rajasthan. Through this process, the state aims to fill 5,636 vacancies for teaching posts. These include Level 1 teachers for Classes 1 to 5 and Level 2 teachers for Classes 6 to 8 across primary and upper primary sections. Only candidates who have already qualified the REET eligibility exam are permitted to appear for the mains stage.

The Rajasthan REET Mains examination will be conducted in two shifts each day during the notified period. The morning shift is scheduled from 9:30 am to 12 noon, while the afternoon shift will run from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. Candidates are required to report at their allotted examination centre in advance, before the commencement of their respective shifts to complete verification and security checks.

On the day of the REET Mains Exam 2026, candidates are required to carry a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid original photo identity proof. Entry will not be permitted without these documents.

Electronic gadgets, mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, and personal stationery items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates can also go through the instructions provided in the admit cards, released earlier, to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.

REET Mains Level 2 syllabus and exam pattern

The REET Mains Level 2 syllabus covers a wide range of subjects relevant to teaching at the upper primary level. Key areas include Rajasthan Geography, History and Culture, General Knowledge of Rajasthan, Educational Psychology and Education Policies, along with subject-specific sections such as Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Punjabi, Social Studies, and Mathematics and Science. RSSB conducts the Level 2 examination to recruit eligible teachers for Classes 6 to 8 in Rajasthan government schools.

The paper includes sections on Rajasthan Geography, History and Culture carrying 40 questions for 80 marks, General Knowledge of Rajasthan and Educational Psychology with 25 questions each for 50 marks, and subject-specific content accounting for 60 questions and 120 marks.

Candidates appearing for the REET Mains have already cleared the eligibility stage. Those who qualify the written examination will be shortlisted for the final stage of the recruitment process, which is document verification. Final appointments will be made based on performance in the written exam and successful verification of documents.
