BHOPAL, JULY 28: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker, Ishwar Das Rohani today adjourned the House till Monday morning, following persistent demands from Opposition BJP members to take up for consideration an adjournment motion on the fake draft scam during the auction of liquor shops this year.
The matter was raised during the zero-hour by Mahesh Tiwari and Babulal Gaur both BJP, who maintained that the issue was of such vital importance that an adjournment motion relating to it should be discussed in the House.
The Chief Minister Digvijay Singh said the Government was ready to get the matter discussed under any provision provided in the rules of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.
The Speaker, Sriniwas Tiwari, ruled that a half-an-hour discussion on the subject would be held in the House but this did not satisfy the BJP members who continued to demand that an adjournment motion be admitted on the topic.
The Speaker adjourned the House for 30 minutes when BJP members persisted with their demand. But when the House re-assembled, they continued with their demand.
At this stage, the Deputy Speaker, Ishwardas Rohani, who was in the Chair said the BJP members should be satisfied with half-an-hour discussion but they marched into the well of the House, shouting slogans.
When the House was adjourned for lunch-break, Rohani adjourned the Assembly till Monday morning.
