Anil Ambani8217;s Reliance Energy and Reliance Natural Resources are set to win coal bed methane CBM gas blocks in India, beating ONGC and Reliance Industries, a source said. UK oil major BP Plc, and Australia8217;s Arrow Energy are other winners.

Director General of Hydrocarbons has recommended that nine blocks will be awarded to three separate consortia led by Reliance Energy, Arrow Energy India, and US-based Coalgas Mart LLC. BP8217;s subsidiary BP Exploration Alpha Ltd has been recommended for one of the two blocks it had submitted bids.

ONGC and Reliance Industries seem to have drawn a blank after winning blocks in last year8217;s
