AHMEDABAD, Oct 13: Gandhinagar police on Tuesday registered a first information report (FIR) against Gondal BJP MLA Jairajsinh Jadeja for threatening an officer on special duty (OSD) of the irrigation department in Sachivalaya on Tuesday.

According to Sector 21 police, the MLA allegedly barged into the chamber on the fourth floor in block 9 of the Sachivalaya of OSD Mohanlal Purshottam Tak at around 5.30 p.m. and asked him to allot a contract on behalf of the department through a government order.

Police said that Tak looks after the government contracts allotted by the irrigation department to various agencies and the MLA was pressing hard for quite sometime to get a favour due to vested reasons.

However, when Tak pleaded his helplessness to do the favour due to some official hurdles, Jadeja shouted at him and took out a revolver. The MLA threatened him of life and told that if the contract was not allotted the OSD will have to face dire consequences.

Police said hearing the shouting a lot of employees and officers of Sachivalaya rushed into Tak’s chamber. The employees also tried to pacify the MLA but to no avail.

Later, Tak registered an official complaint with Sector 21 police against the MLA. Police said that a case under Section 506 (2), 504, 186 and 114 of IPC has been registered against the MLA. Police are also trying to find out whether the MLA has a licence for the revolver he possessed or not.

Police said the MLA was alone at the time of the incident.
