Arsenal8217;s poor run of form continued as they went down to Liverpool 1-2 at Anfield. Strikes from Xavi Alonso in the 41st minute and an injury time long-ranger from Neil Mellor gave Liverpool full points after Patrick Vieira had pulled one back for Arsenal. But despite their loss, Arsenal remain in second place, five behind Chelsea.

In other matches, Everton drew 1-1 against Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur upset Middlesbrough 2-0.
